5 Binge-Worthy Website Copy Examples
What does it actually take to write persuasive website copy? Let’s look at real-life website copy examples from successful entrepreneurs and break down the secret sauce they use to get results.
I always find examples are the best way to learn.
So, take these copywriting examples as inspiration and apply the principles to your copy to take it from bland to bestselling!
Website Copy Examples From 6 Wildly Successful Entrepreneurs
Let’s take a look at some of my all-time favourite entrepreneurs and how they make their website copy work ten times harder than most websites.
A Great Copy Example From Neil Patel
Neil is an SEO expert and the brain behind the copywriting tools Uber Suggest and Answer The Public. He’s a well-known name in the SEO industry, and his website copy is a great example of how to add personality to your brand.
His brand is fun, nerdy, and focused on community, and this shines through in this website copy example.
Eyecatching Heading
“Outstanding Results”
Your eye is immediately drawn to the title text — who doesn’t want outstanding results?
Not just great or excellent – outstanding.
Just a simple use of a more interesting adjective makes this copywriting example more unique.
Community Feel
“You’ll fit right in with us!”
The website copy keeps referring back to community with phrases like “outstanding people” and “you’ll fit in with us” – this makes the reader want to become part of that community. FOMO anyone?
Alliteration
“Down with data, crazy about conversion rates, passionate about performance…”
Alliteration is a clever copywriting technique that makes the content feel more persuasive. It makes the words more memorable and forces us to conjure images, which makes it feel more real.
Web Copy Inspo From Meera Kothand
I’ve been a huge fan of Meera for years. I was actually one of the early readers of her book, One Hour Content Plan, and I genuinely love all of her books on content marketing.
Her website is a masterclass in how to write persuasive website copy, and her homepage header is a great example to give you inspiration.
Texture-Based Adjectives
“Oozes authority, melts resistance…”
A really easy way to make your copy more persuasive is to use interesting adjectives.
So, instead of “boost sales”, you could say “skyrocket sales”. Or instead of “great results”, you could say “mind-boggling results”.
Using unique words makes people conjure images and connect more deeply with what they’re reading.
But Meera takes this a step further in this website copy example by using texture-based adjectives. Our brains can’t help but put imagery to textures, so we immediately form a deep connection with what we’re reading.
Focus on Results
“Inspires dream clients to click, sign up, and buy”
Meera also does a great job of getting to the heart of what her clients want. I mean, who doesn’t want their dream clients to buy from them?
Speaks to Fears
“Without being on social media 24/7”
Not only does she nail the goal, but she also speaks to the fear of her dream client. You can tell that her content is for people who don’t like showing up on social media, and want a different route to growing a business.
Having all that in one header is a challenge, but it comes together to from a strong, persuasive title that has helped Meera stand out as an expert.
Copywriting Example From Rob Dial
If you haven’t listened to Rob Dial’s podcast yet, where have you been?
The Mindset Mentor podcast helps people break through barriers and live life to the fullest, and you can immediately sense that is his entire brand from his website.
This website copy example from Rob’s homepage has a few elements that I want to cover.
Inner Circle FOMO
“Get the exact strategies I teach in my $2000 per month program…”
This freebie is genius because it feels valuable (it’s usually locked behind a $2K paywall), exclusive (it’s what he gives his Inner Circle students), and it’s easy (achieve fast results).
Most visitors won’t be able to afford Rob’s signature program, but he captures attention and builds his database by offering a sneak peek inside.
Speaks to Failure
“Why you don’t want to just write down your thoughts...”
As humans, we don’t like knowing we’re doing something wrong. It gives us an immediate emotional reaction because of course we want to be doing things the right way.
By suggesting that you could be journaling wrong, it gets you curious about what the “right” way is, which is a persuasive strategy for getting more sign-ups.
You might be doing it right; you might not – there’s only one way to find out.
Action Graphic
The final piece of this copy example that makes it so compelling is the photo of Rob actually doing the action.
It shows he leads by example, and you’re getting a strategy he uses for himself.
People want experts who can show them how to get results. Adding an action shot of yourself boosts authority and builds trust.
Website Copy Example From Mel Robbins
Mel Robbins’ brand is confident, straight-talking, and badass. And that confidence shines in her product page.
Result Focused
“Gain Confidence and Erase Self-Doubt”
Straight and to the point, the headline shows you what you’re getting and what you’re letting go of by reading this book.
Expertise Driven
“New York Times Bestseller”
That quick bullet point list tells us that Mel is a New York Times bestseller and has the #1 audiobook in the world. Talk about persuasion.
Fortunately, you don’t need to have such impressive stats to use this copywriting trick. You only need three stats or results-focused facts to turn into a quick bullet-point list.
Results in just 30 days
Build your first 100K followers
Start enjoying £5K months
We love stats and concrete results, so work these into your copy to boost persuasion and authority.
Low Barrier to Entry
“Take control of your life with one simple habit.”
We’re all looking for quick results at the lowest effort possible. That’s just human nature.
Mel’s book is all about getting big results from one easy habit, making it seem real easy to get results.
By simplifying down the work your clients need to do to get results, you make your copywriting more persuasive and enticing.
Copy Example From Hank Green
Sometimes, when you’re Hank Green, you throw all the rules out the window.
Hank’s website copy is ultra simple and focused on one thing – helping you learn.
His website is simple and minimal, aligning with his brand. He’s not about frills or fluff, and that shows in his copywriting.
I included Hank’s website as a final example to show you there is no right or wrong way to structure your website copy.
It’s about finding your voice and letting it shine through authentically. People connect with authenticity, so stay true to your brand voice when writing your website content.
Write This Not That: Steal These Copywriting Examples
It only takes a few key tweaks to take website copy from bland to memorable. Let’s go through a few copywriting examples, and I’ll show you how to elevate your website copy to make it shine.
Add Interesting Wording
This is such an easy tweak and my favourite way to elevate website content. Go through any page on your website and add some interesting verbs and adjectives to your copy.
Bland: Learn how to improve your website copy
Better: Learn how to elevate your website copy
Best: Take your website copy from bland to bestselling
Novelty
Figure out an angle or hook that makes your offer memorable. There’s no such thing as a unique online service anymore, but there are ways to make your offer one-of-a-kind:
Bland: Professional graphic design services
Better: Colourful website designs that make your personality shine
Best: Colorfy Your Brand: Vibrant Websites for Creative Entrepreneurs
Concrete Stats
I never recommend promising results you can’t guarantee. It’s best to underpromise and over-deliver when providing online services.
However, you can include concrete stats that build trust and credibility in your brand when working on website optimisation. Here’s a web copy example:
Bland: I help authors create polished manuscripts for publishing.
Better: I help non-fiction authors make their manuscripts shine with in-depth developmental editing.
Best: I’ve edited over 80 manuscripts and helped create 12 bestsellers. Now I want to help you get your manuscript ready to publish.
Lower the Barrier to Entry
Clients want simple services that require minimal effort. If your offer feels like too much work for them, it’s going to put them off hiring you.
Instead, lower the barrier to entry to make their life easier. Here’s a quick copywriting example:
Bland: Social media management services for busy business coaches
Better: Save time every week with social media management for coaches.
Best: Save 5+ hours a week and grow your following as a business coach with our done-for-you social media management package.
